De Informele Zorgkaart ( Invisivle Care Map)

A collective map to visualize the invisible care of the neighborhood.

De Informele Zorgkaart ( Invisivle Care Map)

A collective map to visualize the invisible care of the neighborhood.
A digital map to visualize the otherwise overlooked aspect of care for inclusive urban planning.

In the power hegemony of planning, the voices of immigrants and minorities tend to be left behind. Through mapping the personal stories and opinions that are otherwise overlooked, the project aims to create a living archive of activities and values of the neighborhood, as well as providing a new strategy of Citizen Design Science to integrate citizens' ideas and wishes in the urban planning process. The modern information and communication technology and active design tools such as mapping could be a powerful tool to crowdsource opinions and thoughts by inhabitants to grasp important insights for more inclusive, sustainable planning. The next step is to convert these data to alternative planning proposals - through which we’re hoping to merge a) Citizen Science (participatory data collection), b) Citizen Design (active design by citizens), and c) Design Science (the translation of citizens' design proposals into the design of urban designers).
