Deregulation plus Imagination equals the Future
Deregulation plus Imagination equals the Future
The older the city, the more regulations while intervening with it. The more elements forming an urban complex, the more restrictions. The more ‘developed’ country, the more norms defining how to simulate the future city. The regulations paralyze the creative development because they cannot keep up with the changing urban situation and evolving character of the society.
Nowadays, the architects struggle with the tightening bureaucracy by reinterpreting the existing normative and guidelines. We are more translators than creators. But when it comes to the public space, it is not filled to capacity with the rules of how to design and construct it, this is why we believe it is bigger field of experimentation and testing formats than buildings.
We believe the future is in working on public/common space now, so we can use that experience in designing future architectural volumes as complex environments, platforms and domains.
