Hamburg, Germany
I work as an architect, urban planner and photographer. My current work focuses on documenting and planning sustainable, liveable cities in participatory, co-creative projects on urban renewal and conception through concrete architecture to urban documentation. I act and plan at different scales. With a passion for urban documentation and city storytelling, I show how cities change and architecture shapes people's lives. As a planner, I have the chance to plan positively and for the people.

The project shows the process from the end of active use, to vacancy, to demolition, to complete disappearance.

Type of project
  • Site-specific cases

The „white giant“ is a landmark of the district and representative of modern office architecture. The photo series documents the existing buildings and shows the transience of buildings from the early postmodern era.
The documentation will make an active contribution to communicating architecture and preserving the architectural heritage of the city of Hamburg before this part of it is over in 2021. The photographs will record the moments and situations of the house and the formative effect on the surroundings. The systematic documentation is thus also in the tradition of urban photographers, as the work represents the continuous change in the cityscape. An essential element of the work is the continuous accompaniment of a process that shows final path of the building and so the lookout to the future architecture on this spot and the city. The future of a city is also revealed by looking at what has been.

Abandoned hallway after moving out

Hallway during demolition

On the construction site at night
