'Exo' investigates multisensory integration and processing, comprehensive sensing technologies, intelligence, satellite monitoring, robotics and dynamic systems towards their architectural smart integration and design. The concept/form suggested towards this end, posits and prototypes 'architectural object' as a 'measuring and sensing instrument' - a sophisticated machine - in complex relations with the humans and the environment.
The system's components have been algorithmically and mechanically tempered: the frequency scale/diagram uncovers the ways by which the complete spectrum analysis and filtering are performed in a 'black box'; sensing modules identify, allocate and track the sources of the detected signals, while the information thus obtained is processed, archived and translated into the architectural kinetic response. Instrument's dynamic performance creates specific aesthetic experience while conducting rigorous scientific measuring and environmental mapping.
