OUT of PLACE
OUT of PLACE
- Site-specific cases
The future of all international site-specific practices is uncertain, especially in the domain of further collaborations and sharing. The inability to travel, to closely work together in particular physical localities of interest brings these practices into crisis – how to proceed with site-specific work now when the site itself is unreachable? In our project we promote new approaches and methodologies, as well as temporary remote digital insights into sites of interest, thus enabling a much-needed flow in site-specific practices heavily stricken by COVID-19 pandemic. The broader impact of the project lies in keeping the international site-specific community alive and well enabling it a much-needed flow in keeping up with the drifting poetics of the transitory sites. Resisting both the current pandemic and the unstoppable appropriations of the abandoned sites in the city, we open questions on the speculative nature of an on-site production when the site itself is not accessible.
