Call for ideas 2021

PROT/MAD_[VN+CL+NN]_XX.X

an urban-logistical experiment for the center of a city

PROT/MAD_[VN+CL+NN]_XX.X

an urban-logistical experiment for the center of a city
PROT / MAD_ [VN + CL + NN] _XX.X is about giving a complete global response, from the transformation of the current logistics type, through the implementation strategy, to the location and redistribution of large peripheral logistics containers at localized points inserted in the urban fabric.
File under
Type of project
  • Systemic changes

Clearly, a rapid and uncontrolled increase in any sector can never positively affect a city in the long term. Specifically, logistics, so important in these times and even more so after the great pandemic that we have experienced, has become an important sector for countries and cities. In Madrid, for example, efficient systems are currently being sought for the distribution of the “last mile” that make shipments faster and therefore more economically viable for logistics companies. But no attention is being paid to whether these modifications will bring more problems than they solve. The project develops a new type of logistics and locates them at points of great connection with Madrid’s large infrastructures, places that tend to have a lot of connectivity, but at the cost of creating many other problems. Thus, the new logistics type proposal that, in addition to occupying 20% of the original surface vertically, tries to involve people, making them interact with the machines.

Analysis of the existing infrastructure in Madrid.

Possible strategic options for the aplication of the project.

Logistics scenarios chosen to act in them.

topological transformation of a logistics center

architectural product. Adaptable and configurable prototype depending on the needs.
