defending the intimate, the child-like, the dream space
a series of unique dance/movement performances in spaces of overlapping private and public nature

Type of project
  • New alliances

Expanding upon a work titled In Being With, this idea will be the first in a series of 3 duet scores. Conceived outdoors, in ground-level private-public spaces that exists between homes and the Outside, these are the spaces that act as a barrier of privacy, transit and activity, yet, they can often be poorly designed or created solely for practicality.
In a future of increasing populations and building density, I hope not only smart but 'soft cities' will rise, where such spaces of communal import reflect imagination and dynamism but is also intuitive  in materials used and how the space responds to us. How can a space be built to grow and evolve to fit the needs of the unique microcosm that is each estate and community? How can we design architecture that listen to the body instead of the body conforming?
Perhaps, by bringing the intimacies of the flesh into the public, we can warm imaginations to architecture that listens better.
