Sensing 21°
Sensing 21°
Sensing 21° rethinks temperature’s role in architecture related to climate change. Future architectural qualities will need to be created by less visible but elementary aspects of sensing. The vision of an ideal temperature, the 21°, reflects the tension between human, temperature and architecture. How will we act in future in this field?
Referencing Rem Koolhaas’ elements of architecture, "sensing 21" focuses on the effects of assembling those basic elements. It works as a follow up and communicates the relation between men and architecture as game-changing condition. From the very beginning, architecture aimed to create a parallel climatic sphere, that keeps us away from outdoors conditions. Therefor temperature is an entity to measure, to show and to question qualities of architecture. How will we proceed and develop architecture’s climatic settings?
