A monument of technology and the domestic space

Time Dwelling

A monument of technology and the domestic space
As the domestic space meets new technologies, the dialogue between private and public prompts us to question the scenario of these spaces.

Constructed as an exploration of the history and present of history of architecture, this project questions the state of architectural projects.
Founding figure of architecture, the domestic space responds to the fundamental act of dwelling. “By delimiting space we can inhabit time.” as Philippe Potié tells us. As the world temporarily closes within the line that defines domestic space, it is up to each individual to make it familiar again.
How then to grasp this relationship as digital and domesticity become unique conditions for the unfolding of the scenario of our existence?
By seeking to embody this time, would domestic architecture become a monument?

Let’s get out of confinement, crossing the border of our home. We can now open our existence in the 3 dimensional space and break out of the flatness of our vision. Let’s try to imagine this together: in a generic field, a domestic space arises for the world coming. This construction has not forgotten that time where it was the unique backdrop for the scenario of our lives.

Emergent, a possibility : Exterior interior. Born from the growing need for domesticity in public space, it is a place open up to the world and to oneself through a series of screens. Through our wanderings, it allows us to reach a bubble of intimacy, the function of which is only observation.

Another possibility : Interior Exterior. Born from the need for exteriority that emerges in the domestic space, it is dedicated to exhibition. Taking up domestic characteristics, it is just a mock home, where every action and space is thought of as an instagramable image. Immediate, irrevocably open, it offers itself for all to see, aware of being watched.

Generator of moments, our construction becomes monuments as soon as it is no longer used. Freed from all usefulness, standing in material space as well as in virtual space witness to their past and present glory ...
