Sound Thinking 4.0
Sound Thinking 4.0
Sound in architecture is yet just acoustics in architecture: building acoustics (sound insulation towards the outside) and rarely room acoustics (sound reflection in a room). The effect of sound inside architecture and in its environment is highly underestimated. The spatial sound experience affects the emotional and mental quality of the relationship between human and architecture.
Questions like: how can materiality of walls and floors be used as active elements of sound experience? How can acoustics support the emotional and mental behavior and sensation of human in space? How can sound design and multi channel sound technology ‘tune’ and invigorate the space with subtle chords and soundscapes - like the interaction of artificial light with daylight?
Sound Thinking 4.0 is an invitation to an advanced sound awareness. It’s an invitation to tune spaces like a music instrument - manifesting and designing the invisible emotional and mental spaces of future architecture.
