I graduated with BSc(Hons) in Architecture Studies at Cardiff University. In my final year of study, I focused on urban scale studies. I proceeded with my architectural career at „Joe the Architect“ studio (USA). Currently working in Vilnius, at „Tiksli Forma“, I am assisting on large-scale projects. I am also working as a Research Assistant at the „Neringa Forest Architecture“ program, held by Vilnius Academy of Arts.

The project brings back a memory on the site, where design decisions are supported and inspired by the historic study of the place.

  • Site-specific cases

Historically related architecture can have a special impact on society. It identifies the location and its traditions that have been followed throughout time. History adds cultural value to architecture. This architecture becomes a space where people learn about the identity of the place. Therefore, running counter to the demolition process, the existing building is kept and reconstructed. Along with the existing, a new housing scheme is developed, based on historical research in the Docklands area

The identity of the city is fading behind the neoliberalism picture. Mass change, driven by real estate investments, appeals for vast energy consumption and yet overlooks existing places and their value. Decisions that are driven by business potential should be debated in relation to cultural heritage preservation and sustainability matters. I am inviting everyone to embrace the identity of the city, re-think the existing and learn from the past

A typological study of housing development in Robin Hood Garden (in 1860) in relation to the surrounding dock areas and manufactures

Model representing the multi-layered history of the typology on site

A typological study of terraced and tenement type housing, and docklands

Project strategy; Building massing scheme (Residential typology inspired by a study of terraced housing)

Representation of the circulation scheme in residential housing; Representation of the Robin Hood Gardens refurbishment into a factory space
