Inhabiting Dysfunctional Plans
Inhabiting Dysfunctional Plans
Architecture is a very slow discipline that requires a certain amount of time in order to get materialised and in most cases outlives its builder and inhabitants. It is impossible to predict the needs of future generations - therefore spaces made to fit are destined to fail at some point. Rather than acting as a well fitted suit, house should function as a loose coat.
Possible future may lay in dysfunctional plans that are not trying to dictate a specific way of living but rather leave it free to interpretation and adaptation. In our work we are interested in floor plans that refuse to interpret clear notion of inhabiting within its parameters. The aim of each project is to minimise the defined proportion of the plan and offer maximal amount of undefined space.
