Public space is where the society is visualized and the citizenship is being built. As a common good, public space is being endangered in post-socialist cities with population drastically changed. In order to preserve public space, enhance sense of belonging [to space and community] and encourage bottom-up initiatives, a series of urban interventions are launched in the city of Banja Luka by small-scale movement. The project aims to re-activate neglect public space through community engagement and implementation of low-cost and ready-made architectural designs. It is a long-lasting process of collective learning that involves wide range of actors and explores novel models of co-creation. Project is based upon the idea that strategically planned small urban interventions may provoke positive change on bigger scale. Three small interventions have been already completed, three new projects are ongoing and some future ones are planned to be also spread across different cities in BiH.
