Sensing landscapes
Sensing landscapes
- Site-specific cases
Our intention is to bring together practitioners and researchers in art, architecture, ecology & critical studies to through field work, interviews and practices of sharing and co-learning reflect upon a near future in which the emergent 5G technoecology, using trillions of antennas emitting beams of radiation, will connect not just people, but the whole world contributing to a novel augmented electromagnetic environment. Highlighting how science, technology and infrastructures allow for apprehending and sensing the environment in new ways, we suggest productive alliances between scientists, critical spatial practice and the public are central for future architecture and urbanism. Asking: How can we care for the communicative connection of whole landscapes, which are inaccessible to direct experience, yet structure our daily lives? our aim is to radically and collectively experiment with thought and practice that position sensing landscapes as a shared and in(ter)disciplinary concern.
