Tirana Garden-City of Tomorrow
Tirana Garden-City of Tomorrow
- Site-specific cases
The project highlights aspects of the Tirana garden, as a multiplicity of aesthetic, sensory and biological characteristics forming a single typology, that tend to the needs and of its keepers. The Tirana vernacular garden is approached as a narrating process that folds and unfolds in its own continuity. This garden exists as a vernacular embodiment, - its many location forming a single sensorial space, an expression of its caretakers. The garden feeds and soothes.
This project wants to subvert the current urban development discourse making the case for vertical gardens in high-rise buildings. We argue that this embodied relationship resists the usual development processes and stands for sustainability and de-growth. We want build up on our psychogeographical walks and analyses that have stemmed from them, so that to reevaluate the Tirana gardens as a cultural component of the city, via a series of multidisciplinary and site-specific interventions.
