Dematerialisation of Architecture

File under

Dematerialisation of architecture is a concept that explore idea that architecture draws from the traditional subdivision of 7 arts. To elaborate on de-materialisation of architecture is to divide it into two: visual and non-visual. Visuals includes: constructions, function, form and materialisation. Non-visuals includes: story, spiritual dimension, materialisation, mind dimension. As Plato stated, ideas are not formed by senses but rather via deep mind contemplation. From there on Plato grants ontological division of realities from visible to invisible spiritual realities from where ideas come from. The gap that dematerialisation of architecture is trying to understand is the idea anamnesis and the architect impotence and power. The concept calls on popular culture (movies and music) in order to bring it closer to wider public, from films like Matrix or conceptual singer Bjork and, on to, and from, Orthodox Church concepts and surreal painter Dali and more.
