A (Non) Architecture for a world in crisis
A (Non) Architecture for a world in crisis
- Systemic changes
The most relevant challenge of contemporary society is: What’s a (Non) Architecture for a world in crisis?
Departing from the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we framed 9 design themes for a new competition series focused on finding innovative approaches to sustainable development. Each theme is developed in various competitions incorporating multiple SDG, generating a Research Ecosystem. Each competition will be different in format, type of design required and target group of designers addressed.
The research will be shared as a Theme Book – summarising key projects, findings and insights - and as an Online Journal – collecting all the material produced, inspirational inputs and open submissions from the community.
With this series, to be developed in 3 years, we want to trigger a new awareness in the design community, challenging it to re-invent sustainability and to build an empowered system based on co-creating and co-sharing knowledge and expertise.
