LEAF SPRING

construction of a system
Leaf Spring - or how to construct a precise system that enables new possibilities of truth and an entirely new system of relationships towards the living world.

With a precise method of abstract thought one can deal clearly with the constant present changes of our society and construct buildings that are adequate today. I propose a glimpse on such methods: working towards the elimination of the insignificant - to find evidence. To not start with forms - to start with principles/feelings/systems/structures and let them perform - slowly start identifying evident features that naturally lead into a form - whatever kind - whatever media. Only in the end a form is revealed. It is more about discovering than inventing. Often this method is not sequential or linear - it rather develops in a circular way. For that reason it requires a systematic approach - objective - towards a specific intention. In this way we can achieve an indissoluble unity of the particular and the universal. Something pure and autonomous that is not depending on any external narratives - that is able to construct an entirely new system of relationships towards the living world.

A tree does not mean to represent anything. It is only itself. It lives in a perfect balance of exchanges within the natural environment. It does not want to be symbolic, romantic or poetic.
Her physical properties of weight, mass and volume develop under the force of gravity according to essential processes of life giving rise to its form. There are no ornamental or narrative elements under this kind of system.

Leaf Spring is a family of entities that carry an elementary condition. Plain structural sheets engage in couples (male - female) giving birth to a reciprocal relationship of holding and keeping. They create a neutral flow of forces that stabilizes them as an organism. If one recognizes these relationships and mutual constraints, one can relate with their principle. They represent nothing - nothing but the effective system of forces and the properties of the materials that compose them.
