New member to join the Future Architecture Platform in 2020
Architektūros fondas, a non-governmental public institution from Vilnius has been selected to become a full member of the Future Architecture platform and receive a platform grant in 2020 for its annual programme Building Narratives.
Architektūros fondas will work with ten emerging creatives from the Future Architecture Platform at different events within the annual program in Vilnius and around Lithuania. Emerging professionals will participate at traveling architecture workshops, an experimental lab, in a series of talks, and develop specially curated tours and side events for Open House Vilnius.
Architektūros fondas wants to work closely with the Future Architecture platform and develop the theme of Building Narratives together. At the same time, they want to establish cooperation with members of the platform within the experimental lab.
In 2019, Architektūros fondas will work on a digital editorial project, which offers the opportunity to promote emerging European voices in the established world of architecture biennials and triennials. Their aim is to invite emerging creatives to participate in a variety of physical events that offer a space for direct engagement with a wider audience.
Architektūros fondas has built a reputation in Lithuania as one of the key institutions in architectural and cultural field by organising a number of public events, cultural and educational projects such as lecture series, public discussions, workshops, architecture outreach tours, festival Open House Vilnius, architecture education program for children Traveling Architecture Workshops. Moreover, organisation has been deeply involved into curatorial projects and exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad including Lithuanian representation in the International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia showcasing The Baltic Pavilion in 2016, and The Swamp School in 2018.
With its dynamic and diversified program and strong local reputation, the foundation is an important new player in the development and expansion of the European Architecture Program.
The future cooperation that is to develop between the Future Architecture platform and Architektūros fondas is another important step in the development and integration of a wide range of locally integrated activities across Europe, which support architectural quality in their environment and contribute to the development of a critical and informed audience.
