Copenhagen Architecture Festival (CAFx) is a platform that, through a number of initiatives, explores, discusses and communicates architectural and urban challenges. The goal is to challenge the field of architecture and promote critical thinking, inspire, engage and increase public awareness of how architecture and urban planning shape our lives and the world - and how our lives and the world affect the other way around. Architecture is not just bricks, spaces and frames. It is sensual, bodily and social. It is political, historical and psychological. Architecture is human and it affects all aspects of life.

CAFx Journal is the festival's digital magazine and archive, which from 2021 will examine architectural and urban challenges through a broad interdisciplinary perspective. Architecture, like our common physical reality, is related to a large number of fields such as politics, science, the humanities, sociology, art, philosophy, etc. All these interfaces make architecture a universal starting point for unfolding complex societal issues. CAFx Journal supplements the festival's program with in-depth articles, films, references, etc., just as Journal conveys independent contemporary relevant topics outside the festival's program.

This year we are exploring and investigating the theme ‘Landscapes of Care’ through invited guest curators and own productions. Read more about our take on ‘Landscapes of Care’ @www.cafx.dk

2021 CAFx Summer School is organised together with BINA/Future Architecture Platform Film Summer SchoolMAXXI Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome and the Oslo Architecture Triennial (OAT).
