The upgrading of school outdoors is an acupuncture strategy where a series of widespread interventions leads to the opening of new community gardens. The direct involvement of schools and locals in the design, the realization, with self-building modes, and the management allows to create a respected space. Self-building mode and participation contain the costs and allow to experiment more projects in different neighborhoods involving a greater number of communities. The involvement of the communities also led to the preferential use of local resources with positive effects on local economies and social realities. Atelier delle Verdure has achieved some practical applications of this approach in Milan, in Rome and Matera, shown in the video, experimenting participation and self-built processes and the use of natural elements.
